O P U S DESIGN STUDIO

As a Principal and Design Director, Jisop Han brings a broad range of experience to OPUS Design Studio. After receiving his undergraduate Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University, Mr. Han went on to practice extensively in architecture firms such as Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates PC and Skidmore, Owings and Merrill in New York City.

After receiving his Master in Architecture degree from Harvard University, Graduate School of Design in 1999, he worked as a Senior Associate Principal at Kohn Pedersen Fox until 2009, completing commercial, recreational, and residential projects. His experience includes Dongbu Financial Center, a headquarters project in Seoul, Korea which earned the AIA New York Chapter award; the Bank Niaga Tower II IN Jakarta, Indonesia; the award-winning Mohegan Sun resort in Uncasville, Connecticut; 130 story Lotte Jamsil Tower Project in Seoul; Fortune Plaza Phase Three sixty story landmark tower in Beijing; Huo Mao Center, a mixed use project located in Central Business District in Beijing; Beijing Science Technology Park Lot 21 project, a 1-million-gsf tower that is the signature centerpiece of the “Silicon Valley of China”, completed in 2005. Mr. Han recently led several teams for the projects in Songdo International City including the Convention Center, the mixed-use residential proiect, 305m tall North east Asia Trade Tower, and the 1,500-acre New Songdo City masterplan. Mr. Han conducted televised interviews about the Songdo projects with Asia America which was broadcasted on PBS in December 2004, YTN Documentary in 2007, and Discovery Channel in 2008. Most recently he served as a design director on TV program, Design Korea from Arirang TV.

Mr. Han has been a visiting critic at various architecture schools such as Harvard University, Cornell university, Columbia University, Hongik University, Yonsei University, and Seoul National University. He was a visiting professor at Seoul National University teaching undergraduate architecture design studio, and now serving as an adjunct professor at KonKuk University teaching 4th year architecture design studio.     

Suengyeon Lee has graduated from Madeira School with the highest GPA and extended her education at Cornell University, College of Architecture, Art and Planning in Ithaca, New York where she graduated with Dean’s List. She has attended Cornell in Rome Program and taught Summer Design Studio for the students applying to architecture program at Cornell University.

As a Principal and Chief Finance Officer, Suengyeon Lee brings a broad knowledge and the experience to OPUS Design Studio. Her earlier projects include Bank of China Head Quarter in Beijing, China and Samsung Yongin Resort project from Pei Partnership in New York. She has also worked at other prestigious firms such as Graham Gund Architect in Massachusetts and WPG Group in New York City. Her experience in these smaller medium size firms contributes greatly to the operation of O P U S Design Studio.
